I was involved in a motorcycle accident at around 30 mph, the other person has admitted responsibly for the accident and has been charged. I've got neck pain, ligament damage above me knees and a severly swollen left knee, a hurt right knee and just general bruises, I'm wearing a cricket splint on my left knee and a splint on my wrist I was taken into hospital twice, once because of the inital crash then because of chest trauma. The bike I was on was a rental (my actual bike was knocked over a week earlier) it has been written off. I'm just wondering what sort of compensation will I receive and will the bike be paid for from the other side and will it be deducted from my claim? I'm being bombarded by insurance phone calls and its very confusing. Thank you

I am a recent college grad working a job that does not offer me health insurance, and I receive excellent coverage under my parent's plan. I recently went to a job interview for a position that offers insurance, but I would have to pay a pretty large chunk of change for it monthly ($500+, which is a lot if you're working an entry-level position), and the coverage isn't nearly as good as my current plan. (For example, I currently pay $3 for a three month supply of my prescription. The new plan would charge me $30-90 for the same amount pills). I saw a clause in the Affordable Health Care Act that said I would only be able to do this after January 1st, 2014....I really wish this went into effect in 2013 instead! So, my questions are: Can I opt out of this insurance and remain on their plan? If I were to take this job and the insurance plan, would I be able to re-enroll under their plan if I stopped working at this place and worked at a place that didn't offer insurance? (I'm under 26, and my family's plan covers both my parents and another sibling)

I was involved in a motorcycle accident at around 30 mph, the other person has admitted responsibly for the accident and has been charged. I've got neck pain, ligament damage above me knees and a severly swollen left knee, a hurt right knee and just general bruises, I'm wearing a cricket splint on my left knee and a splint on my wrist I was taken into hospital twice, once because of the inital crash then because of chest trauma. The bike I was on was a rental (my actual bike was knocked over a week earlier) it has been written off. I'm just wondering what sort of compensation will I receive and will the bike be paid for from the other side and will it be deducted from my claim? I'm being bombarded by insurance phone calls and its very confusing. Thank you

Okay I will be honest. I have been unemployed since September so money has been very tight and i havent been able to afford my car insurance. I have court tomorrow and when I was pulled over i didnt have my insurance card on me. I have court tomorrow morning and I have to bring my card with me. I still dont have valid car insurance. I am freaking out because I can lose my license over this. If i do how will i take my daughter to school how will I be able to look for work. I just cant bottom line! I was caught failing to stop completely at a red light right turn. The cop stopped me and asked for everything. I gave my driver's license, and my dad's insurance. the cop wrote me a ticket afterward and that's that. however, the thing is that i don't have insurance myself. is anything going to happen? note: this just happened 3 days ago and it apparently takes the count 2 months to enter the citation into the database

Canada car insurance -- am I getting screwed?

Our 1990 GMC truck (average condition -- nothing special!) was vandalized about two months ago. The punks damaged the doors so badly trying to get in that our insurance co. was going to write it off. Aside from the doors, the truck is perfectly fine (runs great), so Hubby spoke to the adjuster who promised us a cash settlement , and said he wouldn't write the vehicle off. We got a chq in the mail, and used some of it to put new doors on the truck (it's not pretty, but we don't really care). NOW we got a letter from AB Transport saying that the truck is salvage, and no longer legal to drive. Insurance wrote it off! The cash is gone (spent very wisely -- don't judge!), and now we are being forced to buy a new truck. Insurance told Hubby that we didn't have a choice , but I thinks that's bogus. Hubby signed papers for the cash settlement, but nothing for the write off. CAN THEY DO THAT? What are our rights?
